The AR Specialist position is responsible for the overall recovery and management of accounts receivable as it relates to maximizing accounts receivable collections for Spencer Recovery Center Inc.
The position involves detailed research and followup on mental health/substance abuse insurance claims and the careful preparation of appeals and responses to efficiently interact with insurance carriers and resolve the claim.
The position supports the company's overall operations and client services by efficiently and effectively driving the accounts receivable process and showing results.
Duties &
Responsibilities:
Strong customer service skills; answering client, patient and insurance carrier calls; prompt return and followup to all interactions; prompt response to requests for information Timely management of unpaid claims Effectively handle complex payer denials making sure to follow each insurance company's own policy when submitting a corrected claim or an appeal Monitoring and reconciliation of claims to include:
Unbilled vouchers Denial trends Analyze EOB's Patient balance report Credits and refunds Answer and resolve all incoming calls and requests in a timely manner.
Complies and enforces policies and procedures Achieve goals set forth by supervisor regarding error-free work, transactions, processes and compliance requirements Other duties as assigned Experience/Training/Education:
High School Diploma or GED Must have 1
years in a Healthcare AR follow up role.
At least one recent year full-cycle medical billing, from data entry to collections.
Excellent patient customer service abilities.
Experience billing VA (Optum, Triwest) and Tricare strongly preferred as many of our patients are Veteran/Active Duty.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Technical:
Extensive knowledge on use of email, search engine, Internet; ability to effectively use payer websites; knowledge of Office 365 and use of Microsoft Products:
Outlook, Word, Excel.
Knowledge of Sigmund software is preferred but not required.
